“I’d Like a Word” is a playful watercolour portrait of an ostrich caught mid-outburst, staring straight ahead with its beak wide open. The direct gaze and exaggerated expression give the bird a wonderfully human sense of indignation, as if it has an urgent complaint to deliver.
